We stayed over night in Co. Wicklow with Pauline and the kids which gave us some time to explore. We spent the afternoon at Powerscourt Estate, originally a 13th century castle but since has been renovated because of sale and then a fire in the '70s. It has beautiful gardens to explore and a tower. The kids enjoyed rolling down the hills, climbing trees and romping through the Japanese gardens. The kids were stopped twice to take picture by Chinese tourist and funny enough the next day as well at Glendalough. I guess they were enamored by Irish children, and they really liked the color of Declan's hair! We drove to a bay in Greystones a seaside town in Dublin enjoyed a cone and played at a beautiful rocky beach watching the sailboats come in. And the next day went swimming and made a quick stop in Glendalough and took a scenic drive back on top of the mountains.
