Declan and his two best girls
Today we did arts and crafts and had water play at Macy and Lanie's house. Declan had so much fun. First he played in the pit with Lanie, then we went outside and got wet and had some ooey gooey messy fun. Declan finger painted a chick for Easter and I helped him glue on the details.

Happy Feet
He's been cruising the furniture since 7 months and now right at a year he has the strength, balance and confidence to take a few steps.. our lil guy stepping into toddler-hood. We are so proud!

Declan turns ONE!
Happy Birthday Deere Declan! Declan turned one on Sunday at 7:39 am. We had a John Deere Tractor party at Plantation Woods Park to celebrate. Unfortunately none of the tractor decorations held up with the wind, but the babies didn't seem to mind. Declan played with 10 of his closest friends and enjoyed some cake. We were hoping for a big debauchery on the smash cake, but Declan just gave it one good kick!
This week Declan started taking a few steps, it's all so exciting! He leaves the couch in hunt of his toys and has taken up to five steps! He is also doing very well with his finger foods and I am starting to do away with more and more of the purees. His babbling is sounding more like conversations these days too! He is definitely growing into quite a toddler!

Sharing
Declan and I were hanging out on the living room floor having a picnic with cheese and crackers, when daddy came home and laid on the couch. Declan wanted to share his snack and started feeding Donal. It was the cutest thing yet!! I wish I would have gotten the video a little earlier but it's still adorable.

Spring Break 2012
This week Declan was on Spring Break, school was closed so we packed in a lot of play dates. Monday we went to visit grammy, always a blast! Declan gets to visit his puppy Pixie and feed the ducks and birds in the back yard. On Tuesday morning we went to a music class with Declan's friends Macy and Lanie. We sang songs and banged some instruments around! In the afternoon we met Coleman at Bayview Park and played in the dirt. On Wednesday we took a ride to Jupiter to meet Charlie (5months). Charlie's mom, Michelle, and I went to middle school, high school and then ventured off to UCF together. Declan loved hanging out with his new little friend. On Thursday my friend Laura borrowed her mom's minivan. We piled in her two boys and Declan and headed out to Little Javas, an indoor playground. We met Valerie and her two kids there too! Today (Friday) we had our friends Macy and Lanie over for a play date at the pool. We splashed and practiced our kicks! What a great week and it's not over yet- tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day!

My first boat ride
Saturday was Fort Lauderdale's annual St. Patrick's Day parade that takes place downtown. It was a beautiful day so Declan and I decided to take our boat since we knew the traffic and parking would be horrendous. But then we remembered our boat was still at the dealership, luckily there is a water taxi stop right at our building.
We called our friend Crystal to join us. At 12:30 the three of us departed down the intracoastal, admiring the gorgeous mansions to the New River, and finally hopping off at stop #9 Las Olas Blvd where the parade was on it's way. We were just in time for the McSorley's float!
We met a few other friends along the way. We then lounged in the park, front and center of the stage and rocked out to an Irish band. Crystal and I had some Irish fare- fish and chips and the corn beef and cabbage. Declan had his delicious apple. We had a festive day! At 5:00 we hopped back on the water taxi back home.
