Rory's One Month

Friday, May 10th, Rory was 1 month young! We had our pediatrician appointment that day and he check out healthy. He put on 2 lbs 14 oz in his first month and grew 1 1/2 in. He now weighs 9 lbs 14 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long! When he came home from the hospital, he was a little jaundice and still has it slightly. The doctor said it may take up to 12 weeks to completely clear up since I am nursing. Other than that, Rory is great and a little more awake these days.

Declan is adjusting well and loves giving him kisses. Every once in a while Declan will ask to hold Rory, so he sits on the couch with him in his lap for all of 5 seconds before he says "all done!"

I rode my tricycle past your window last night

When Declan took his first steps and then started walking it was an incredible feeling, and a feeling of such accomplishment for him. For me, the next exciting thing that brought back these feelings of pure joy  was when he could finally jump. Jumping was something that he practiced for months and when he was finally able to do it with both feet off the ground at the same time it was incredible. And now again I get these overwhelming feelings of joy when I see him on his tricycle. We bought him a tricycle for his 18 month young birthday. He's been riding it for 6 months using his feet on the ground to scout around. And just recently he finally has the strength and coordination to pedal, and it's the cutest thing to see him riding around the house.
