My First Haircut

We took the plunge! Today we took Declan to get his first haircut (we didn't let them take too much off, just out of his eyes and the sides & back cleaned up). We went to Cool Cuts in Hollywood where they specialize in children's haircuts. It was fantastic! The waiting area has a Thomas the Train table to play with along with books and videos, Declan played with the trains. When it was our turn, he chose to sit in the Ferrari. There was a video on for him of Disney's Cars, that he didn't pay much attention to but the owner was blowing bubbles for him which he really liked! It was such a great experience. He got a certificate, we saved a lock of hair and we bought natural curl calmer, his first hair product!

We started a class at My Gym once a week, they have all sorts of equipment to climb, bounce and hang from. By far one of the best classes around!

We've always let Declan play with spoons while he eats and now he is starting to feed himself a little...along with making a bit of a mess :-)

Declan's buddy Chase had his first birthday party on Sunday. It was a Yankee's Baseball theme and it was a grand slam. Declan enjoyed playing at the park.

We attempted the beach this morning, but the weather wasn't cooperating. We stayed and played under the gazebo for a while.

Donal and I took Declan to Gisele's 3rd Birthday party at the park. Declan is getting around very well and enjoys climbing around on the playground areas. He played with Brody and the birthday girl on the splash pad.

Water Play

We had swim lessons this morning. Declan is doing great and enjoys it so much. Then we came home napped, had lunch and met some friends at Cypress Water Park. It was our first time there and it was fantastic. They have a huge pool with a big slide and two smaller play areas for younger kids. One area has two small slides and the other area is a splash pad. We went swimming and played on the splash pad, Declan had a blast!

Laney turns One

Declan had a great weekend. On Saturday we participated in the March of Dimes walk in honor of his friend Coleman. Coleman, Declan's best buddy, was born eight weeks early and this charity funds important programs and research that help babies begin healthy lives.

On Sunday we celebrated Laney's 1st Birthday! Declan had tons of fun. He did some coloring, water-play and climbed around on the playground area.
