Amongst all the babbling, some words have emerged. Today we were on the balcony watching the boats, a favorite past time of his, and I was telling him the bridge is going to open for the big boat (several times of course). We watched the bridge go up several times today and sure enough by the end of it he was saying "open bridge," his first phrase! He has also said dog, cat, fish, duck, boat and I am pretty sure in the the bath tub last night he said octopus! Our babysitter heard him say airplane. He also says mommy and daddy often and quite clear.
Declan with tia Angelie
Below are two videos of Declan playing while his tia (tia is spanish for aunt) Angelie was here for a visit. She is moving 4 hours north to Palm Coast with her boyfriend in a couple of weeks. The first video you will see Declan knocking over his blocks, which is super funny because just until last week if I would stack the blocks he would be so careful NOT to tip them over and now he is like a mad man doing it! In the second video he is riding Rody a present from my dad and has been thoroughly enjoying the box it came in too.
Declan is doing more walking then crawling now, and its been incredible to see him so determined. He turn around while walking yesterday so that was exciting too! He is also recognizing things. For example his inflatable bath tub has bugs on it and I showed him and said this is a snail and then showed him another snail and then asked him where a snail is and he pointed to a different one. It was so cool! He will also point to daddy in a picture when I ask.
