Cowmooflage

   Last month Declan out grew his infant car seat. We held off as long as we possibly could, but it was time for a bigger one. The infant car seat will be greatly missed, it made life much easier since you could take him in and out of the car with it snapping it into a stroller. Anytime I went to a store I just snapped the car seat onto a stroller that had nice size basket on the bottom and off we went-very convenient.
   Now it's in and out of the car seat and in and out of shopping carts. The trickiest is coming home from the grocery store and getting the bags into the apartment. I park downstairs, quickly run into the lobby and grab a cart. Then I load the cart with the bags and load Declan. Up the elevator we go to drop off the bags. Baby goes back in cart and down the elevator we go to drop off the cart. Then back into the car seat to drive up the garage to our parking spot and finally back out of car seat to the apartment to put the groceries away.

I don't think Declan minds the run around, do you???

Woo Hoo!

One Step Closer

Declan was 11 months yesterday. He weighed in at 21 pounds 2 ounces. He is crawling around and climbing the couches like a mad man! He pushes a few of his toys around the living room on his knees, but yesterday he was taking steps pushing his lawnmower.

Declan does the humpty dumpty

Swim classes are back in session. Declan was promoted to mini mudskippers. We go Saturday mornings and the class goals are: to have fun, wait for “Ready, Set, Go” before swimming,  and hold onto the wall.
In this video he is practicing jumping into the water and turning around for the wall.

Yummy Apples and Pears!

I've been trying to give Declan more finger foods to get him use to chewing (gumming). He eats a lot of cereal puffs and broccoli florets which he loves. We have also shared an apple before and my friend suggested peeling an apple and cutting off either end and letting him at it. Well he loves it and usually finishes all of it! I do the same with a pear.

We all scream for Ice Cream!

A few friends and I took Declan to Jackson's Ice Cream Parlor. It's an old fashion parlor that has been in the area for more than 50 years. They make the best ice cream sundaes and have all the old school candy! Declan didn't get to enjoy the ice cream yet, but had a fun day out with the oldies.

Life's a beach

We found a handy place within walking distance to roll the stroller right up to the sand. Declan is on his way to becoming a beach bum! It's been a great winter for the beach, although the water is a little cool for us Floridians that we just dip our toes for now.
