Last week, Declan's Grammy and I took him to a house decorated with over 175,000 lights! It takes the owners 3 months to put them up, they are displayed for a month, and 3 months to take down. It is quite a site. Declan loved looking at all the decorations, and enjoyed the Christmas Carolers so much he was grooving to the melody.
Declan went to Coleman's for water play and painting. The boys had lots of fun! Declan is little hesitant about the hose spray, but it didn't stop him from having a blast.
Preston turned two and celebrated at Davie Ranch. There were pony rides, face painting, petting zoo and play area to romp around on. The festivities were fabulous! And the birthday boy made a grand entrance on a pony for his special song. Declan enjoyed watching the horses and made friends with the enormous bunny rabbit. It was quite the hoedown!
Lauderdale By The Sea had their Tree Lighting last night. Donal and I took Declan to the festivities. We saw Santa, horses on the beach, a big red fire truck, and a band. We spent a long while with the horses but his favorite part was dancing to the music. It was a beautiful breezy night and Declan wasn't happy when it had to come to an end.
We have been getting in the Christmas spirit. Shortly after Thanksgiving, I'm pretty sure it was still November, Donal and Declan surprised mommy with a Christmas tree. It smells so good, hopefully it will stay green until Christmas! The first day we hung the ornaments Declan thought the ball ornaments were apples and was trying to take a bite out of them, it was hilarious! Now he just likes to touch them but he has been gentle so no messes yet. Declan decorated his own Christmas tree that he has in his play area, he did a fantastic job! A few times a week we go driving around the neighborhood looking at all the lights, Declan has really enjoyed it.
lots of room for presents!

I took Declan to visit Santa at the mall. He enjoyed looking at all the decorations and Santa from afar! Next week were gonna take him to a different better Santa and maybe get a picture.
Declan had a play date with Macy and Laney and 8 other girls! We went to Flamingo Nursery to paint a pot and plant a flower. Boy did the artist come out in Declan! While waiting for the paint to dry we took a walk to the waterfall and ginormous chair, had smoothies and lunch and played in the plant nursery. Once the pot was dry we planted our flowers, Declan chose the marigold flower and we brought it home for daddy! Declan has been watering his plant everyday (hopefully not over watering)!
Not Declan! He has been enjoying doing these puzzles. I'm going to buy a few more soon. The second video is my favorite puzzle because the pieces are all the same size and he has to match the colors of the vehicles.
This was Declan's first year to experience Trick or Treating, he had the time of his life! He wasn't in bed until 9:30. The festivities started at 6:30. We brought out our patio chairs to the front yard and greeted and treated many dressed up kids and parents from the neighborhood. Declan enjoyed all the costumes and isn't faced by the scary ones yet! He was happy just handing out candy. Then it was his turn, we went to several houses, many with great decorations, on our block. He went right up to the doors and gladly held out his pumpkin for treats! When we got back to our house, the neighbors were finished with their trick or treating too. We live right next door to a 3 & 4 year old boys who Declan hadn't played with yet. The boys ran around after one another for an hour laughing and having the best time, they probably would have played another hour had it not been so late. Declan had the best time I have ever seen him have. It was sooo much fun to watch.
Happy Halloween!

This year Declan is future baby golf pro. It's tough to get him to wear the hat and carry the clubs but you still get the idea. We met Coleman and Ethan at the pumpkin patch, they had fun messing around with pumpkins and playing in the hay.
Uh-Oh, the wind blew the scarecrow over

Heeeey!

A couple of weeks ago, Declan started watching Sesame Street. The first day he was hooked on Elmo (Crazy!). I'm not sure if it's Elmo's voice, his red fur or that his name is fun to say that gets kids hooked, but the following morning Declan woke up saying "Elmo, Elmo!"
Sesame Street Live was playing at Parker Playhouse, right down the street, so we got tickets this past weekend. Declan had a blast, it was so much fun watching him take it all in. The first half of the show he sat on Daddy's lap stoned-faced, like he wasn't sure what to make of it, I think because the characters are so big in person- I think he was taken back. But during intermission he got up and was dancing around and that was it! He didn't sit for the rest of the show he was totally into it, pointing, saying, "Elmo, Big Bird," he was all smiles.
I'm going to see ELMO!
Is it time to go yet?
